1 Hospitalized after San Diego Bicycle Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 3, 2019) – A 53-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in a bicycle accident on Highway 67 on October 2.
According to CHP Officer Travis Garrow, a hit-and-run driver struck the female bicyclist about 6:15 a.m. near Highway 67 and Dye Road.
The woman rode on the right shoulder of Highway 67 when an SUV steered to the right and hit her. The impact ejected the woman from her bicycle onto the road.
Meanwhile, the SUV driver of a 2019 Ford Edge with California license plate 8KPJ239 continued driving north. People last saw the vehicle driving south on San Vicente Road near Hanson Lane.
Responders airlifted the victim to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment of major injuries.
