Woman Hurt in Deadly Head-On Crash on State Route 78 [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (November 23, 2023) On Tuesday evening, a 45-year-old woman was hurt and a 35-year-old man from El Cajon died after a head-on crash on State Route 78.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the 2-vehicle collision happened around 7 p.m. on SR 78 near Barnett Drive.

Reports say that the El Cajon man driving westbound on a reported stolen F-250 that crashed head-on with a Subaru Outback in the eastbound lanes.

Officials say that the F-250 driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Outback driver suffered minor injuries and did not need hospitalization.

CHP is investigating the fatal 2-vehickle collision.
