1 Arrested after Lacey Hit-and-Run Car Accident on Carpenter Road
LACEY, WA (August 5, 2020) – Friday night, a woman was hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash on Carpenter Road.
According to reports, the authorities received a report of the crash at around 9:40 p.m.
The deputies revealed that before the crash, a Ford Crown Victoria followed by a Chevrolet Monte Carlo headed south in the left lane on Carpenter Road near Sixth Avenue Southeast. However, the Chevrolet quickly drove past the Ford.
As the Chevrolet tried to pass the Ford, it drove into the right lane, quickened its pace before it reentered the left lane. Then, it clipped the front right quarter of the Ford with its left rear end. Afterward, the driver overcorrected to the right, struck the curb and then veered left, crossing the northbound lanes of Carpenter Road. Eventually, the Chevrolet hit the front driver’s side of a northbound Honda Accord.
The Lacey Fire Department and the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office received the report of the multi-car hit-and-run near the Lacey Safeway. The authorities said that the suspect driver attempted to escape the scene on foot after witnesses saw him wielding a knife.
