Pregnant Woman Injured After SUV Crash into Building in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 02, 2019) – An SUV crash on Los Angeles Street Thursday morning sent a pregnant woman to the hospital.
According to the Los Angeles County fire officials, the incident occurred just before 1 a.m. in the 9300 block of Los Angeles Street near Clark Avenue.
Video footage showed that the woman was driving a Ford Explorer XLT that veered to the wrong side of the street. It subsequently began plowing into the front of a building.
The structure she hit appears to be an empty commercial space below some apartment units. Inspector Mike Borzi the woman struck a window under a header supporting the building.
Cindy Pierce, a resident in the area, said she heard a loud bang while sitting in the living room.
First responders transported the pregnant woman to the hospital. She has since been released. There were no reports of other people injured in the crash.
Further investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
