Divyesh Patel Involved in Collision near Hartnell Avenue
REDDING, CA (June 13, 2018) – A woman was hospitalized after a pedestrian accident on Bechelli Lane, on Wednesday night. Her identity was not immediately disclosed.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 8:00 PM, in the area of Bechelli Lane and Hartnell Avenue. 39-year-old Divyesh Patel of Redding was making a westbound turn from northbound Bechelli at Hartnell on a green arrow.
At the same time, a woman in her early 60s left the sidewalk and began to cross the street, outside the crosswalk. Patel was unable to stop in time, and struck her with his pickup truck. The unidentified woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Mercy Medical Center. She was reported to be in critical condition.
Authorities determined that Patel was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the collision occurred. It is unclear if the pedestrian was under the influence.
