Injuries Reported in Pasco Auto Accident on Interstate 182 near Tri-Cities Airport
PASCO, WA (June 21, 2021) – Friday afternoon, a woman suffered injuries in a multi-car crash on Interstate 182 near Tri-Cities Airport.
The Washington State Patrol revealed that the incident happened just after 4:00 p.m. Apparently, a 19-year-old driver of a 2015 Toyota Highlander drove behind two other vehicles in the eastbound lane of Interstate 182.
The authorities added that the crash occurred just south of Tri-Cities Airport near Columbia Basin College.
When the two drivers slowed due to the flow of traffic, the Highlander driver struck the 2017 Kia Forte. Then, the Kia crashed into the car in front.
The authorities charged the Pasco teenage driver with following too close.
Meanwhile, responders took the 53-year-old female victim to Lourdes Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries.
According to the WSP officials, her car and the car that struck her were both totaled. The authorities haven’t disclosed further details about the victim’s identity and condition.
Meanwhile, the WSP Troopers clarified that impairment from drugs and/or alcohol weren’t factors in the crash.
Furthermore, the 41-year-old driver of the third vehicle from Pasco suffered no injuries. Despite the reportable damage, the third vehicle’s driver managed to drove it away from the area.
As a driver, it is your responsibility to be a proactive driver, rather than a reactive one. Moreover, driving defensively prepares you for emergencies.
