28-Year-Old Woman Dies After Getting Hit by 2 Vehicles on East Thomas Road
Phoenix, AZ (June 18, 2020)– One woman, a pedestrian, died on East Thomas Road in an accident involving two vehicles.
The deadly crash occurred on June 5 on the 3000 block of East Thomas Road around 9:13 p.m.
According to Phoenix Police Department spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the woman was seen attempting to cross East Thomas Road. Suddenly, a 2006 Ford freestyle SUV hit her.
The woman went over the vehicle and fell onto the road due to the impact of the crash. Consequently, another vehicle, a 2018 Nissan frontier pickup, struck her.
The woman was immediately brought to the hospital; however, she was later pronounced dead, said Thompson.
The SUV driver, an 86-year-old man, and the Nissan driver, a 61-year-old man both remained at the scene. According to the police, both drivers involved were not impaired when the incident happened.
