Woman Fatally Struck on Las Positas Road [Santa Barbara, CA]

Santa Barbara, CA (November 05, 2021) – On Thursday, a woman was fatally struck on Las Positas Road near upper State Street.

It was just minutes after 6:30 p.m. when a northbound pick-up truck hit the victim.

Moreover, the authorities said the pedestrian was walking on the roadway when the accident happened.

After the fatal incident, the driver stopped and called the police. 

Responding officers pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Officers said the incident does not involve DUI.

“As of right now, the driver is cooperating with our police department and DUI is not suspected,” an officer said. “This just seems like an absolute terrible tragedy that occurred here on Las Positas tonight.”

Meanwhile, officers withheld the name of the victim or driver pending notification of relatives.

Police are still investigating the Las Positas Road accident.
