Woman Dies in Wrong-Way Crash on Loop 101 [Glendale, AZ]

Tragic Vehicle Crash on Loop 101 Kills One

 
Glendale, AZ (January 19, 2021) – On Monday, a woman lost her life in a tragic wrong-way crash on Loop 101 near Cardinals Way.
 
The fatal accident took place at about 1 a.m when a vehicle moving southbound in the northbound lanes collided with another vehicle.
 
The wrong-way vehicle’s driver was not seriously injured. However, a female passenger died in the crash.
 
Immediately, responders took the driver of the vehicle that was struck by the wrong-way driver due to minor injuries.
 
“In this case, we had no calls of a wrong-way vehicle, so it’s unknown at this time how long that vehicle may have been traveling the wrong way,” said Sgt. Roger Hansen.
 
Meanwhile, investigating officers consider impairment as the possible cause of the crash.
 
The authorities reopened the northbound lanes of Loop 101 at Cardinals Way.
