People Injured in Deadly Vehicle Crash in El Paso
El Paso, TX (October 6, 2024) – A woman was killed in a pursuit crash on Artcraft Road Friday morning.
It was about 8 a.m. when the fatal crash happened in the area of Upper Valley Road.
DPS officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old man from Horizon City. The authorities said the vehicle was being pulled over for an equipment violation and for being involved in a possible human smuggling incident.
The vehicle stopped but then fled as officers approached the car.
The teen driver ran a red light, side-swiped two vehicles, and collided with another vehicle at Upper Valley Road.
A female occupant in the last vehicle that was hit was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead.
Meanwhile, the teen driver and five migrants in his vehicle were all taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. Two other people sustained serious injuries.
The 17-year-old driver is charged with murder, human smuggling, and evading arrest with a vehicle.
