Vehicle Pinned in Utility Pole After Fatal Crash on Main Street and Bear Valley Road
Hesperia, CA (July 17, 2020)– One woman was reportedly killed in Main Street and Bear Valley Road crash on Thursday midnight.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the tragic incident that happened on July 16 at about 12:40 a.m. According to CHP, the crash took place along the Interstate 15 between Main Street and Bear Valley Road.
San Bernardino County Firefighters arrived at the scene and found a vehicle, a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle was on its side and transfixed in a high-tension utility pole located at the right shoulder of the road.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the vehicle, described as an older female died at the scene. Furthermore, there was no other occupant in the vehicle.
County firefighter said they will help in extricating the woman from the vehicle as soon as the coroner arrives. Moreover, Southern California Edison will also respond to check the integrity of the pole.
CHP officers said they are considering the possibility of an involvement of another vehicle that probably left the area.
