Woman Dies in Central Avenue Pedestrian Accident [Riverside, CA]

Riverside, CA (August 20, 2021) – On Thursday, a woman lost her life in a Central Avenue pedestrian accident.

The fatal accident happened at about 9:15 p.m. at the intersection with Wilderness Avenue, near Riverside Municipal Airport.

The victim was pushing a shopping cart when a 2000 Mercedes-Benz driven by a 52-year-old woman from Riverside struck her.

Afterwards, a 22-year-old Fontana man driving a Hyundai Elantra behind the Mercedes, also struck the victim. 

Officers said both drivers stopped and called 911 to report the accident.

Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the accident scene. Officers withheld her name pending family notifications.

Meanwhile, the officers did not arrest anyone at the scene. They said they are still investigating the fatal crash.
