1 Killed in Sacramento Auto Accident on Highway 160 near River Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 3, 2021) – Saturday morning, a woman died in a rollover crash on Highway 160 near River Road.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 9:20 a.m. A bicyclist reported an overturned Dodge Durango on the River Road section of Highway 160 on the east side of the Sacramento River.
Reports revealed that a 24-year-old Rancho Cordova woman driving a Dodge Durango SUV suddenly veered to the left. Then, she crashed into a guard rail before rolling over and coming into rest on the west bank of a levee road.
Furthermore, CHP closed the highway in both directions for four hours to give way to the investigation.
Also, authorities believe that speed may have been a factor in the crash.
Meanwhile, officials said that it is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
