Pedestrian Dead in San Diego Collision
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 26, 2019) – A 48-year-old woman died following a pedestrian crash near San Diego State University on Friday, March 22.
According to San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims, the accident occurred at around 7:45 p.m. in the 4800 block of College Avenue south of Montezuma Road.
The 66-year-old woman driving a Nissan Versa northbound struck the pedestrian who was crossing mid-block on eastbound College Avenue, Heims said.
Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, according to Heims.
The driver of the Versa remained at the scene and rendered help. Heims said that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the incident.
The accident is still under investigation.
