HOUSTON, TX (March 21, 2023) – Monday morning, a woman died in a catastrophic pedestrian crash on Interstate 10 East Freeway.

The crash occurred at around 12:13 a.m. on Interstate 10 East Freeway outbound at 610.

According to Houston Police Department, an Uber driver picked up a 28-year-old woman. As he took her to her destination, the woman was calling someone on the phone. Then, she attempted to get out of the car on the freeway.

The Uber driver locked the door to stop her from getting out as the car was in motion.

Then, the driver pulled over. However, the woman jumped out of the side window and began running on the freeway. Eventually, an eastbound F-250 on the entrance ramp of the freeway hit her.

After the crash, the truck driver remained at the scene. However, the truck driver confirmed that several vehicles struck the woman but fled the crash scene.

At this time, the authorities haven’t determined why the woman jumped out of the Uber. Also, her identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.
