1 Killed and Multiple Injuries Reported in Jackson Accident on State Route 16 near Latrobe Road
JACKSON, CA (November 9, 2021) – On Saturday, a woman died in a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 16 near Latrobe Road.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on State Route 16, west of Latrobe Road.
Reports revealed that a Westbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala veered onto the right gravel shoulder of the highway. Then, it overcorrected to the left and lost control. Afterward, the Impala veered towards the eastbound lane and collided with a 2019 GMC Yukon.
The force of the crash pushed the Yukon to the south of the road and rolled over multiple times.
Moments later, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado struck the back end of the Impala. Then, the impact pushed both vehicles onto the south shoulder of the highway.
Moreover, responders pronounced the Impala driver, a 25-year-old woman dead at the scene. The 40-year-old male Silverado driver from Sutter Creek and his wife received treatment at the scene. Also, the 35-year-old female GMC driver from Sutter Creek and their children received treatments for minor injuries.
Furthermore, officials do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
