SAN DIEGO, CA (November 20, 2022) – Friday afternoon, an 85-year-old woman died in a head-on crash on Mission Gorge Road near Cottonwood Avenue.
 
The incident happened at around 5:21 p.m. at the 900 block of Mission Gorge Road near Cottonwood Avenue.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, a westbound 2018 Toyota Corolla traveling in the eastbound lanes collided head-on with an eastbound 2021 Toyota Venza.
 
Moreover, responders rushed the Toyota driver, an 85-year-old woman, to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Also, paramedics transported the Venza driver to a hospital with chest, neck, and back pains.
 
Furthermore, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
 
Meanwhile, the fatal accident remained under investigation.
