1 Killed and 2 Arrested in Carlsbad Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 5 near Carlsbad Village Drive

 
CARLSBAD, CA (June 8, 2022) – Monday night, a woman died after a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 near Carlsbad Village Drive.
 
According to Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Walker, the incident happened at around 9:20 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on southbound Interstate 5, south of Carlsbad Village Drive.
 
Reports revealed that the incident involved a 2003 Ford Expedition, a 2006 Freightliner big rig, and a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. Then, authorities confirmed that two occupants of a stolen Suburban fled the scene after the collision.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities later found and arrested the two suspects on suspicion of hit and run, vehicle theft, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced the Expedition driver, a 31-year-old woman, dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the events leading to the crash remain under investigation.
