1 Killed in San Pablo Pedestrian Accident on El Portal Drive and Interstate 80

 
SAN PABLO, CA (January 4, 2022) – Monday morning, a woman died in a pedestrian crash on El Portal Drive and Interstate 80.
 
According to CHP Officer K. Karsant, the incident happened at around 2:55 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on El Portal Drive onramp to westbound Interstate 80.
 
Reports revealed that a Ford F150 pick-up truck struck a female pedestrian. Moreover, the incident happened as she walked across the El Portal Drive onramp. Then, the pickup driver transported the woman to a hospital.
 
Moreover, officers confirmed that the victim died while being transported to a hospital. Meanwhile, the pickup driver pulled over in the area of 12th Street and Barrett Avenue in Richmond to contact authorities.
 
Furthermore, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remains under investigation.
