1 Killed in Stockton Police Shooting Incident on Roberts Road and Rolerson Road

 
STOCKTON, CA (February 24, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a woman died after being shot by officers in an accident on Roberts Road and Rolerson Road.
 
According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the incident started at around 2:00 p.m. Reports confirmed that a vehicle struck a police patrol car near Charter Way and Interstate 5.
 
Then, another Stockton patrol vehicle spotted the suspect vehicle after it ran a red light near Fresno Avenue and Highway 4. Thus, officers initiated a traffic stop but the vehicle driver refused to comply. Then, the driver fled the scene down South Roberts Road to the dead-end of Rolerson Road where the officer finally cornered the suspect.
 
Moreover, the officer got out of his vehicle and asked the female driver of the vehicle to comply and exit the vehicle. However, the suspect drove in reverse and struck the patrol car, causing the vehicle of patrol vehicle to strike the officer. After getting back up, the officer opened fire at the driver.
 
Furthermore, responders rushed the suspect to a hospital where she later died.
 
Meanwhile, all events surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
