Female Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Regional Transit Bus near Silver Eagle Road
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 22, 2018) – A woman was hospitalized Saturday morning following a pedestrian collision on Norwood Avenue. The identity of the victim was not immediately released to the public.
According to officials with the Sacramento Police Department, the incident took place at about 9:00 AM near Silver Eagle Road. The woman was crossing outside of a crosswalk when she was struck by a Regional Transit bus.
The pedestrian sustained injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. Updates on her current medical condition were not available, and no other injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, the driver of the bus stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation at this time. Additional information will be disclosed once it becomes available.
