32-Year-Old Woman Struck by Car at Sacramento Street
BERKELEY, CA (June 5, 2018) – A 32-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after being involved in a pedestrian collision on Delaware Street, on Tuesday evening.
Police received a report from the dispatch about the accident around 7:35 PM, at the intersection of Sacramento Street and Delaware Street. Based on the officers’ investigation, the woman was walking south along the west-side crosswalk of Sacramento.
At the same time, a Subaru that was driving north on Sacramento and making a left turn to go west on Delaware, when it hit the woman.
Firefighters also arrived at the scene and transported the unidentified woman to an area hospital. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a cause of the crash.
Drivers were advised to take other routes for several hours while investigators were working on the scene of the accident. Anyone with more information about the incident is urged to call Berkeley police at (510) 981-5900.
