Woman Hospitalized after Lompoc Pedestrian Crash on Highway 1
LOMPOC, CA (November 26, 2018) – A female pedestrian was seriously hurt when she was struck by a vehicle on Highway 1 on Tuesday, November 20.
According to the California Highway Patrol, emergency personnel was dispatched just before 10 p.m. to Highway 1 near Rancho San Julian and El Jaro Creek.
The woman was already out of the vehicle, which had pulled to the side of the road, and was attempting to cross when she was hit by a passing car, according to CHP Officer Rick Larson.
Personnel from the California Highway Patrol, and Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s and Fire departments responded to the incident.
Larson stated that the woman, who is from Garden Grove and was traveling with her husband, was rushed to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by AMR ambulance.
Her identity and details on her condition were not released.
The northbound lane of Highway 1 was temporarily closed in the area of the collision, according to the CHP.
