2 Hurt After Big Rig and Car Collide in San Diego Highway 163 Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 26, 2019) — A woman and a child suffered serious injuries Monday morning following a Highway 163 crash near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 9:30 a.m. on the northbound side. A 35-year-old San Diego woman driving a Mazda sedan lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. Her car subsequently struck a guardrail on the right side before a semi-truck struck the Mazda, causing significant damage to the vehicle.
Following the accident, paramedics arrived and transported the woman to Sharp Memorial Hospital and the 4-year-old to Rady Children’s Hospital.
Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver stayed at the scene and spoke of no injuries. Authorities had no choice but to close the right two lanes for an hour due to investigation.
