SAN DIEGO, CA (February 19, 2023) – Saturday night, authorities arrested a woman after a DUI crash on Interstate 5 near Balboa Avenue.
 
The incident happened at about 9:49 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Balboa Avenue and Garnet Avenue.
 
When the officers arrived, they located a Lexus SUV incredibly mangled with severe front-end damage, disabled in lanes of traffic. Then, they found another SUV down an embankment with at least one person trapped inside.
 
Moreover, the incident shut down all lanes.
 
Also, some witnesses stopped to help at least three women involved in the crash.
 
Then, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded and rendered aid to at least three women.
 
After evaluation, officers arrested the driver of the white Lexus for driving under the influence.
 
Then, responders transported at least one person to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
