SANTA MARIA, CA (May 22, 2019) – A woman was airlifted following a rollover crash Wednesday morning on Highway 166, just East of Rock Front Ranch.
 
Around 9:20 a.m., a vehicle had overturned and landed back on its wheels. The driver, a 36-year-old woman, suffered major injuries as a result of the accident.
 
The woman was taken by CalStar medical helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for immediate treatment. Her identity and condition were not immediately available.
 
The CHP is still piecing together exactly what led up to the crash but do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
 
Many rollover accidents are result of a driver turning their steering wheel too fast in an attempt to avoid an accident. Pay attention and do not drive distracted. Abide by the speed limit, and only drive when you are alert and sober.
