Kia Driver Killed in Modesto Vehicle Collision
Modesto, CA (June 15, 2022) – On Tuesday, a woman in her 80s sustained fatal injuries in a vehicle crash on Gates Road.
It was before 8 p.m. when the fatal incident took place on Highway 132.
Officers say the woman was driving a southbound red Kia when it stopped at a stop sign.
When she drove into the intersection, a westbound gray Kia, driven by a 25-year-old Modesto man struck her.
The impact threw the red Kia southwest leaving the roadway. The Kia went into a canal that flows parallel to Gates Road.
Moreover, the red Kia was submerged in the full canal.
Witnesses pulled the woman out of her vehicle. Responding paramedics provided CPR to the woman on her way to a hospital, where she died shortly after arriving.
The gray Kia driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.
