Driver Dead in Crash on California City Boulevard near Yerba Boulevard
CALIFORNIA CITY, CA (July 17, 2019) – A 71-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash on California City Boulevard, Wednesday afternoon. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California City Police Department, the incident happened near Yerba Boulevard, at about 1:30 PM. Witnesses claim that a white Toyota Camry attempted to cross Cal City Boulevard and collided with a Chevy Captiva.
Emergency responders performed CPR on the driver of the Camry after finding the victim unconscious. Unfortunately, the victim later died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevy received treatment at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators ruled out speed and alcohol as factors in the fatal crash. Authorities encourage more witnesses to cooperate as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
