Fatal Rollover Crash on 505 Freeway in Winters

 
WINTERS, CA (March 6, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a rollover crash Wednesday morning on 505 Freeway in Winters.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:24 a.m. along the northbound lanes of the freeway, just North of County Road 26.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a red Toyota RAV4 SUV was traveling northbound when it overturned into a right shoulder ditch and landed on its roof. Several other motorists pulled over to assist.
 
Fire crews responded to the scene and found at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
The name, age and town of residence of the victim were not immediately available pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
