Willie Lewis Sr Fatally Struck on Interstate 205 [Oakland, CA]

Oakland, CA (February 10, 2022) – On Tuesday, 62-year-old Willie Lewis Sr died in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 205.

It was about 8:48 p.m. when the fatal accident happened west of the Hansen Road overpass.

A Saturn sedan and a GMC SUV were stopped on the freeway, in the far-right slow lane.

Lewis, the GMC SUV driver got out of the vehicle. He stood in the traffic lane and talked to the Saturn sedan’s 44-year-old male driver and a 58-year-old female passenger. They are also from Oakland.

Just then, a white Audi driven by a 41-year-old Tracy man was traveling west in the same lane.

The Audi fatally struck Lewis where he was standing.

Moreover, the authorities are investigating why both vehicles stopped on the freeway. 

Meanwhile, no one else was reported injured in the accident.
