Vista Crash on Highway 76 Kills William Vinyard Jr.
VISTA, CA (September 3, 2019) – A man died in a crash on Highway 76 at East Vista Way Monday morning.
The California Patrol said reports about the accident came in at around 3:36 a.m. CHP said William Lee Vinyard Jr., driving a Nissan Sentra, turned from westbound Highway 76 onto East Vista Way when his vehicle collided with a Jeep Wrangler heading east.
Vinyard was turning against a red light, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. Medics attempted to revive Vinyard but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jeep’s 34-year-old driver complained of pain. However, no other people involved in the collision. CHP said the Medical Examiner’s office would determine the man’s sobriety at the time of the crash. The driver of the Jeep was not impaired, CHP said.
The investigation of the accident is ongoing.
