58-Year-Old William Stuart Killed in Old Woman Springs Road Collision [Landers, CA]

Passenger Injured in Fatal Collision Near Olivine Road

Landers, CA (November 30, 2023) – William Stuart, 58, from Phoenix, Arizona, and a 72-year-old male driver from Wofford Heights in Kern County were killed in an Old Woman Springs Road collision Thursday.

It was at 11:05 a.m. when Stuart was driving a 2012 Audi A3 north on Old Woman Springs Road, south of Olivine Road.

Officers said Stuart crossed over the solid yellow line and, into the path of a 2007 Lincoln MKZ sedan driven by the Wofford Heights man.

As a result, the left front of the Audi struck the left front of the Lincoln. The Lincoln was engulfed in flames.

Sadly both drivers were killed on the scene. 

Moreover, a passenger in the Lincoln, 67-year-old Pamela Alvarez from Wofford Heights, incurred major injuries and was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center.

Officers are still investigating.

Officers said alcohol or drugs did not appear to have been a factor in this collision.
