51-Year-Old Man Dies after Car Catches Fire at North Meridian and Elizabeth Roads
VACAVILLE, CA (September 27, 2019) – A man was killed following a fiery rollover crash Friday evening in Solano County.
The crash happened around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of North Meridian Road and Elizabeth Road.
According to the CHP, a 2007 Honda Civic lost control and rolled over several times. The car then came to rest in a ditch, where it caught fire.
The driver of the car, identified as 51-year-old William Stevens of Vacaville was trapped inside the vehicle and was unconscious. Responding paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities suspected alcohol as a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
