1 Person Dead and 1 Injured in Bakersfield Accident on Highway 65 near Famoso Road

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 15, 2023) – Tuesday morning, authorities arrested William Pederson after a fatal DUI crash on Highway 65 near Famoso Road.
 
The incident happened at around 4:00 a.m. on northbound Highway 65, just north of Famoso Road.
 
According to reports, a northbound Dodge Ram veered across the double yellow line and collided with a southbound vehicle.
 
Moreover, authorities confirmed that the 53-year-old female driver of the second vehicle died in the collision. Meanwhile, her passenger was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries. Then, authorities arrested the Dodge driver, 52-year-old William Pederson, on suspicion of manslaughter and other offenses.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
 
Meanwhile, the fatal crash remained under investigation.
