William Montenegro Killed in 118 Freeway Motorcycle Accident
Granada Hills, CA (August 26, 2020) – On Wednesday, 30-year-old William Montenegro of Pacoima died in a motorcycle crash on the eastbound 118 Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at about 10:45 p.m. on the connector road to the southbound 405 Freeway, wherein two other vehicles were involved.
Furthermore, the CHP said Montenegro was thrown from his motorcycle. He landed in the westbound lanes of the freeway, while the motorcycle remained in the eastbound lanes.
Even so, authorities have not yet identified if anyone in the other two vehicles sustained injuries.
The authorities closed the Balboa Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue on-ramps to the eastbound Ronald Reagan Freeway until further notice. All lanes of the freeway closed at Woodley Avenue about 11:05 p.m., but quickly reopened.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

Dealing With Fatal Road Accidents
In a time filled with uncertainty, confronting a tragic loss can seem unimaginable. As the loved ones of the deceased victims grieve, it is also important to recognize that if your family loses a member in an accident, you may recover damages through a wrongful death suit.
Ultimately, a wrongful death lawsuit gives the loved ones of a departed family member some semblance of justice.
“The aftermath of tragic accidents can make everything difficult for a family. The last thing most families want to deal with is piles of paperwork, questions from insurance companies or defense attorneys, and attempting to obtain police reports. Grieving and handling legal claims don’t exactly go hand in hand. This is why getting an experienced attorney can not only provide you with peace of mind that you have a fighter in your corner, but also having someone to make sure that your rights are respected and that justice will be served. Having legal representation after such a traumatic event will provide your family the space to heal, while ensuring that justice is brought to a loved one,” says Mark Sweet, a seasoned attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
