62-Year-Old Male Bicyclist Pronounced Dead after Accident near Escuela Drive in Palm Springs
Palm Springs, CA (April 17, 2020) – Tuesday afternoon, 62-year-old William Camp was killed in a bicycle collision on Vista Chino Drive.
California Highway Patrol officers first received reports of the accident around 4:05 p.m., on April 14. Dispatchers arrived to the area along the North Gene Autry Trail, shortly after.
According to reports, a big-rig truck fatally struck the male pedestrian on the roadway. However, the events leading up to the accident are still unclear.
Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced Camp dead on scene.
The surrounding area on Visto Chino Drive was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. No further information has been released to the public.
