Man in Custody on Suspicion of 2019 Redding Hit-and-Run Accident on South Market Street
REDDING, CA (November 5, 2020) – Tuesday, authorities arrested William Allen McKee on suspicion of a crash on South Market Street.
Police arrested 31-year-old McKee in suspicion of being a hit-and-run driver in a crash that killed 50-year-old Daniel Kihm of Redding.
While walking along the southbound shoulder on Dec. 20, 2019, Daniel Kihm was struck and the driver fled the scene.
Furthermore, the incident happened on South Market Street near Angelo Street.
Officials said that there were no witnesses in the crash. However, authorities found an abandoned vehicle, allegedly belonging to McKee.
Moreover, they spotted it near Court and Gold streets.
In addition, investigators believe that the damage to the cars is consistent with one being involved in a crash.
Mckee was arrested on Tuesday for an unrelated Felony charge before being interviewed by Redding Neighborhood Police Unit.
Also, officials revealed that McKee was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run into Shasta County Jail.
Furthermore, the Redding accident is under active investigation.
