Pedestrian Hospitalized after Crash near Whittwood Town Center, John Nwachukwu Arrested
WHITTIER, CA (April 9, 2018) – On Monday around 10 PM, a woman was struck and injured in a pedestrian hit-and-run collision on the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Whittwood Drive.
According to Lt Aaron Ruiz, the driver fled from the scene after the collision near the Whittwood Town Center, leaving the injured woman in the road. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
There is no update on her current medical condition, or her identity, at this time.
A witness followed the driver and informed authorities of their location. 29-year-old John Nwachukwu was later arrested and booked into the Whittier jail on suspicion of hit-and-run. He posted bond and was released from custody.
