35-Year-Old San Juan Capistrano Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash near Amber Lantern
DANA POINT, CA (November 3, 2018) – A woman was killed early Saturday evening following a pedestrian accident near Amber Lantern. The victim was later identified as 35-Year-Old Whitney Daniels, a resident of San Juan Capistrano.
As per reports, the accident happened at about 5:20 PM, as a pedestrian was walking on Pacific Coast Highway. There, she was struck by a vehicle.
Daniels suffered severe trauma to the body and head and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. The driver, described to be a 70-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. No arrests have been made, and neither drugs nor alcohol is believed to have played a role in the incident. Additional information will be released to the public once it becomes available.
