33-Year-Old Man Dies after Solo Crash on Briceland Road near McKee Creek
GARBERVILLE, CA (September 3, 2019) – A Whitehorn man lost his life in a solo crash on Briceland Road, Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 7:08 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a 2005 Mazda MPV Van lost control and drove off the east side of the road. There, it collided with the bridge railing over McKee Creek.
Emergency responders pronounced the driver and the sole occupant of the vehicle dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the 33-year-old man, pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators believe that alcohol played a role in the fatal accident. Anyone with information can call the Garberville Area CHP at (707) 923-2155. The CHP will release additional details to the public once it becomes available.
