Fatal Afternoon Collision on Highway 50 in West Sacramento
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (February 18, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a multi-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in West Sacramento.
The collision happened around 1:09 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 50 and 80 Freeway. A white Ford F-150, red GMC Sierra, and another vehicle collided for unknown reasons. One vehicle was possibly stuck under another, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Fire crews responded to the scene and found at least one occupant with major injuries. Paramedics transporting the patient to a hospital, where the individual was declared dead.
Multiple lanes were blocked until around 2:55 p.m. for the on-scene investigation.
