Wayne Adams Killed in Los Angeles Pedestrian Collision on Santa Monica Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 2, 2019) – A 25-year-old man identified as Wayne Adams died after a pedestrian accident on Wednesday, August 21.
At around 5:35 a.m., Adams was crossing Santa Monica Boulevard west of Las Palmas Avenue. Then a 1996 Ford pickup traveling westbound on Santa Monica Boulevard struck him. The driver pulled over and tried to render aid, as required by law, according to LAPD spokesman Tony Im. Police responded a short time after the crash.
Emergency personnel rushed Wayne Adams, of Los Angeles, to a hospital, where he died two days later.
There was no arrest and there were no alcohol or drugs involved, Im said. It was strictly a traffic crash, and the driver remained at the scene, he added.
Officials shut down Santa Monica Boulevard east of Highland Avenue for hours during the investigation. Im said Adams was not in a crosswalk when the vehicle hit him.
