Driver Injured after Crash on West Fort Lowell Road in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (September 19, 2023) – On Monday, 60-year-old Wayne Aaron Kimball died in a crash on West Fort Lowell Road.
The fatal crash happened at 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, September 16.
Tucson Police said Kimball was stepping onto West Fort Lowell Road at 11:50 p.m., just east of North Oracle Road, when he was hit by the motorcycle.
According to reports, Kimball was not in either a marked or unmarked crosswalk, the release states. The motorcyclist swerved but could not avoid colliding with him and was ejected from his vehicle.
Both the motorcyclist and Kimball were transported to Banner University Medical Center.
Kimball later died at the hospital on Monday. The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries.
Moreover, reports said the motorcyclist did not have the appropriate motorcycle endorsement associated with his license. It also revealed that Kimball had drugs in his system.
Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
