Watsonville Woman Crystal Rocha Injured in Fatal ATV Crash on Salinas River [Soledad, CA]

Soledad, CA (May 17, 2022) – On Saturday, Crystal Rocha, 23, of Watsonville, sustained injuries in an ATV crash on Salinas River killing Jacqueline Morenoruiz, 22, also of Watsonville.

It was about 8 p.m. when the fatal incident took place on the riverbed of the river.

Responding officers say a 2021 Polaris Razor rolled over onto its driver’s side.

When the emergency rescuers arrived, they located Morenoruiz. They say she was not wearing a helmet or a seat belt when the collision happened. Unfortunately, she was thrown out of the ATV and sustained fatal injuries.

Moreover, the paramedics say Rocha, the passenger, sustained moderate injuries and took herself to the hospital.

Officers are investigating the crash.
