Morning Head-On Collision in Wasco Leaves 3 People Injured
WASCO, CA (January 30, 2019) – Three people were injured following a head-on collision Wednesday morning in Wasco.
The collision happened around 5:23 a.m. on Highway 46 at Scofield Avenue.
According to the Kern County Sheriffs Office, an orange Corvette tried to pass a tractor-trailer on Highway 46. The driver of the Corvette reportedly unable to see the Ford Mustang traveling in the opposite direction due to a dense fog in the area.
The Corvette and Mustang collided head-on causing significant damage on both cars. From the front of the Corvette, the car was unrecognizable due to the extensive damage.
A total of three people, two from the Mustang and one from the Corvette, were injured in the crash and transported to area hospitals. One of the patients sustained a chest injury.
Further details, including the identities of the parties involved, were not immediately available. An investigation is still ongoing.
