Man in His 50’s Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision on Palm Avenue near Gromer Avenue
WASCO, CA (February 8, 2018) –An adult male in his 50’s was killed when his bicycle was hit by a truck on Thursday at around 3:30 PM.
The bicyclist and the truck were both heading north on Palm Avenue when the truck hit the cyclist, according to California Highway Patrol.
Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were near crash site and saw a man, who appeared to be in his 20’s, driving a truck with damage. The police chased the truck and ended up near Highway 43 and Peterson.
CHP confirmed that the suspect is now in custody; his identity has not yet been released. They are yet to determine if drugs and alcohol were involved in the collision.
