Wanda Fletcher Fatally Injured after Dixon Multi-Vehicle Crash
DIXON, CA (September 25, 2019) — A woman identified as Wanda Fletcher died in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday, September 20.
According to the Solano County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office, Fletcher is 64-year-old resident of West Sacramento.
CHP Officer David Harvey stated that the crash occurred at 6:10 p.m. on eastbound 80 Freeway, just west of Highway 113. It occurred when the Nissan Kicks Fletcher drove was rear-ended by a Jeep Compass.
Both vehicles were in the fast lane when, per witnesses statements, traffic slowed and the Jeep crashed with the back of the Nissan.
Immediately after the collision, the Nissan collided into the back of a Ford F-150 pickup truck moving ahead of the Nissan in the fast lane, Harvey stated.
Passing motorists stopped and rendered aid to Fletcher. However, she still succumbed to her injuries and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Emergency personnel rushed the 45-year-old Oakland driver of the Jeep to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vacaville for treatment of minor injuries. The 46-year-old West Sacramento driver of the Ford was not hurt, CHP stated.
The accident is still under investigation. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors, according to Harvey.
Our deepest condolences are with the family and friends of Wanda Fletcher. We wish the injured party a swift and steady recovery.
