Injuries Reported in Ozarks Boating Crash on Big Niangua
OZARKS, MO (August 27, 2024) – Sunday night, Wanda Eakins sustained injuries in a startling boating accident on Big Niangua.
The incident occurred at about 6:39 p.m. when a Four Winns Funship traveled down the Big Niangua arm of the lake.
The Funship encountered a large wave, which caused 85-year-old Eakins from Camdenton to be thrown into the air and then land hard on the boat’s floor.
She suffered serious injuries from the fall and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by Mercy EMS.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
