Monterey Park Man Dies in Early Morning Crash on 91 Freeway near 15 Freeway
CORONA, CA (October 25, 2019) – A man was killed in a car accident early Friday morning on 91 Freeway near the Riverside-Corona border.
The fatal crash happened just after 3:00 a.m. east of 15 Freeway transition road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling westbound on 91 Freeway at an unknown speed. For unknown reasons, it veered to the right, went off a dirt embankment and struck a freeway sign near the intersection.
As a result, the driver of the Jetta died at the scene. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified him as Walter Peralta, 23, of Monterey Park.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help his family with funeral costs.
The CHP is still piecing together exactly what led up to the crash but do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of Walter Peralta.
