Rider Dies after Crashing into Car on Watt Avenue near Karl Drive
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (February 11, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into the back of a car Tuesday evening in North Highlands.
The crash happened just before 8:00 p.m. along southbound Watt Avenue near Karl Drive.
CHP officials said a motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended an unknown vehicle. The impact ejected the rider into the roadway.
Paramedics rushed the rider to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, the rider did not survive and was pronounced dead.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Vitaliy Lesnikov, 28, of North Highlands.
Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, the CHP said. Further investigation is underway.
